How To Create Lab Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds are produced using two principal techniques: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). The energy source, equipment and operating conditions affect the footprint of either process.

In HPHT growth, a diamond seed and carbon source are exposed to high pressure and temperature so that carbon crystallises onto the seed.

In CVD, the diamond seeds are placed in a chamber. The chamber is heated, and gas is added to the chamber. When the gas carbon atoms are broken down, they combine with a diamond seed in a form of crystal, which formation of diamond.
